Bill is a product of the Bill Bernbach school of advertising. After learning the basics of his trade at a number of creative hotshops he spent four wonderful years at Doyle Dane Bernbach, London.
After winning his first awards for Commercial Union (“We won’t make a drama out of a crisis”) Newcastle Brown Ale and High Protein Diet he left with the then chairman Brian Waldron, the client service director John Allen and his writer Susie Henry, to start Waldron Allen Henry & Thompson.
After ten years, an almost greedy haul of awards, and the not-to-be-sniffed-at sale of WAH&T to the French agency BDDP, Bill left to become head of art at JWT London.
A stint as executive creative director at Halls in Edinburgh and KMM in London led to Bill teaming up with Barry Smith to pioneer creative independents.
Eight years working both sides of the fence, in every corner of the planet, left him yearning to return to a full service agency. This resulted in him joining McCann Erickson London where he had great fun working on a host of McCann’s multinational clients. (Not least leading the pitch and global launch of Viagra.)
Bill loved creating ads and making them look wonderful... and now he's got the time to do the same with his snaps.
